Most preschool training is a deck of slides and a certificate at the end. Running a preschool worth the name is not a slide problem. It is a hundred small judgments a week: which teacher to keep, where to set the fee, what to do when a parent walks out, whether a classroom is teaching or only keeping children busy. You do not learn that from a portal. You learn it from someone who has done it, sitting next to you. That is what this is.

What I will do, personally
I am not going to hand you a folder of templates and wish you luck. For twelve weeks I sit with you. I read your numbers, I look at your floor plan, I watch your classroom on video and tell you plainly what I see. When enrolment stalls, or a parent is unhappy, or a teacher is not working out, you bring it to me and we fix it that week. I have reviewed the preschool curriculum of every state in this country, and I have taught children in a government school that had nothing. You get the same attention either way. You will have me, not a login.

What the program is
Twelve modules carry the whole job: child development and play-based pedagogy, observation and assessment, the learning environment, health, safety and nutrition, inclusion and family partnerships, compliance and daily operations, hiring and coaching teachers, the money (budget, fees, breakeven, cash-flow), enrolment and brand, the year-to-day curriculum plan, and quality assurance. The last module is a capstone you build and present, not an exam you forget.

A neighbourhood preschool and a good one look the same from the gate
Most preschools in India are started by people who are good with children and were never taught to run a school. That is the gap, not a fault. You can love a three year old and still not know how to price a seat, read a cash-flow, write a safety routine, hire a teacher who lasts, or tell whether a bright, busy classroom is teaching anything at all. From the road, an ordinary neighbourhood preschool and a very good one look identical: the same painted wall, the same smiling banner, the same promise of a happy child. The difference sits inside, in a hundred decisions a week that nobody trained the founder to make.
This program is those hundred decisions, worked through with someone who has watched them go right and wrong across the early years, birth to six, for twenty-three years. It joins the two halves most training keeps apart: the pedagogy, how young children actually learn, and the business, how a centre stays open and stays honest while doing it. One without the other is how preschools either go broke being lovely or stay open being hollow.

You leave able to design a play-based day that genuinely teaches and prove it with observation rather than a worksheet. You can set up the health, safety and nutrition that keep children safe and parents calm. You run the place on clear routines and records instead of memory and panic. The curriculum

M1 Foundations and child development
What quality means in the early years, child development from birth to six, developmentally appropriate practice, and how to watch a child instead of testing one.
You build a daily schedule that protects learning time, and an observation template you will actually use.
M2 Play-based pedagogy and assessment
Learning centres, projects, and story and play cycles, and how to teach inside play with intent rather than leaving children to drift or sitting them at worksheets.
You build a week of plans and a set of anecdotal records, and run one weekly assessment cycle for real.
M3 Learning environment and materials
Laying a room out into zones that work, and rotating low-cost materials so the space stays alive without fresh spending every month.
You build a floor plan and a four-week material rotation.
M4 Health, safety and nutrition
Hygiene and illness routines, first-aid basics, child-friendly menus and growth tracking. This is the part that ends careers when it goes wrong, so it gets real time.
You build your health and safety routines and a two-week menu with allergens marked.
M5 Inclusion and family partnerships
Admission and orientation, simple support plans for children who need them, and two-way communication with parents that goes past the WhatsApp group.
You build a light support-plan template and a parent orientation kit.
M6 Compliance and operations
Policies, records, transport, inventory and risk logs. The unglamorous spine that keeps a school open and out of trouble.
You build a policy and records binder and a risk register.
M7 People and leadership
Hiring, induction, weekly coaching, appraisal, and the culture that makes good teachers stay instead of leaving every April.
You build an induction pack, a coaching plan, and an appraisal form a team will accept.
M8 Finance and unit economics
Budgeting, fees, cash-flow, pricing and breakeven, in plain numbers, so the school survives a slow admission season instead of quietly running on the founder’s savings.

M9 Enrolment, marketing and brand
Turning enquiries into admissions, running a school tour that actually converts, referrals, and a simple, honest digital presence.
You build a 90-day enrolment calendar and a tour script.
M10 Curriculum planning and annual calendar
Mapping the year down to the day, balanced across the domains, tied to local festivals and context, and mapped to NEP 2020 and the NCF Foundational Stage, with teacher guides that a new teacher can pick up and run.
You build an annual curriculum map and a sample week.
M11 Quality assurance and data
Walk-throughs, rubrics, a light dashboard and monthly reviews, so you improve on evidence instead of on mood.

M12 Capstone studio
You run a 30-day pilot and present what happened. Owners build a business plan they can open on, centre heads a 90-day improvement plan, master teachers a model classroom and a mentoring toolkit. R. Raman is on the panel.

Questions people ask
Who is the Preschool Excellence Program for?
Preschool owners and directors, centre heads and coordinators, and lead or master teachers. People opening a preschool, and people who already run one and want it to be genuinely good rather than just full.
Do I need to already own a preschool to join?
No. There are three tracks: opening one, running one, and leading the classroom. If you are still at the idea stage, start with the free Preschool Entrepreneurship Program, then come to this.
How long is it, and how much time will it take?
Twelve weeks, about 120 hours across live workshops, on-site practice, assignments and a capstone. It is built to run alongside a working school, not instead of one.
Is it online or in person?
Blended. Live workshops and short online modules, with on-site coaching and classroom observation. Delivery and handouts come in English and Hinglish.
Will R. Raman mentor me personally?
Yes, that is the point of it. He reads your work, watches your classroom, and takes your live problems each week, enrolment, a difficult parent, a teacher who is not working out. You are not buying a video library.
What do I get at the end?
A certificate, a capstone you can actually use, either a business plan or a school improvement plan, and the working files: a policy and SOP binder, a year-to-day curriculum master plan, a finance workbook, an enrolment kit and a quality dashboard.
What does it cost, and how do I join?
